NilsKlykken Drew Smith, President

Drew Smith is a senior in the School of Music, Theater, and Dance. He is pursuing a degree in Vocal Performance with Teacher Certification. Originally from Saline, MI Drew graduated from Saline High School. Now entering his fourth year in Glee Club, he served as Social Chair prior to be elected President. In addition to the Glee Club he has performed with other ensembles at U of M and in the area including the University Chamber Choir, the Boychoir of Ann Arbor, and the Birmingham First Chamber Choir. Apart from music, his other passion is tennis and he plays whenever time and weather allow. Drew is honored to serve as President during the 150th Anniversary, and is excitedly looking forward to the spring celebration.

Drew Bollinger Scott Venman, Vice-President

Scott Venman is a senior in the University of Michigan's College of Engineering. He is pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in French and Francophone Studies. He is also in the Program in Global Engineering. Scott is originally from Lansing, MI where he graduated from Waverly High School. He has been singing much of his life and wanted to continue singing in college with the Glee Club. This is his fifth year in the Glee Club. He says, "It is the perfect opportunity to continue a musical education without actually enrolling in a course." Scott was the 2009 Tour manager and the Parliamentarian for the 2007 and 2008 school years. Scott is thrilled to be the Vice President this year and gear up for the 150th anniversary in the spring.

Drew Bollinger Anthony Ambroselli, Business Manager Emeritus

Anthony J. Ambroselli is currently in his 2nd year on the Men's Glee Club executive board. He is a senior in the Ross School of Business concentrating in accounting. Having joined the club freshman year, he first served the club as the merchandise manager developing the first ever glee club tie. In addition to the normal operational business manager responsibilities, Anthony has taken on projects including the affordability and accessibility of tour, digital download capability of certain CD's via iTunes, and various 150th anniversary related projects. In addition to the glee club, Anthony is also a second degree black belt in karate and an active member of MUSKET student productions.

Andrew Wollner Daniel Pesick, Operations Manager

Daniel Pesick is a senior in the School of Music, Theater, and Dance. He is pursuing a degree in French Horn Performance with Teacher Certification. Raised in West Bloomfield, MI, Daniel graduated from Bloomfield Hills Andover High School. Ingrained to sing "The Victors" at nearly any opportunity possible by his father, it only made sense that Daniel would join the Glee Club once stepping onto campus. Now in his fifth year with the Club, he served as Ticket Manager for two years before stepping into the role of Operations Manager. In addition to his activities in the Glee Club, Daniel has spent the last five years learning how to teach children to love music, working with various music-based outreach programs, including Arts Enterprise and Enharmonia, playing horn in the pit for a host of MUSKET productions, and recently interned with Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in New York City.

Scott Rofman Lee Quackenbush, Public Relations Manager

Lee Quackenbush is in his third year in the Glee Club and excited to be acting as the group's Public Relations Manager. He looks forward to a productive year of expanding outreach to the University and wider communities through the avenues of community service, partnerships with community organizations, and increased high school engagement. In addition to the Men's Glee Club, Lee enjoys playing sports and being involved with a variety of campus activities. Lee is a junior in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business with a concentration in Finance and a minor in German.

Scott Venman Keith Hudolin, Parliamentarian

Keith Hudolin, in his first year on the Executive Committee, is very excited to be the parliamentarian. He is a third year law student who also did his undergraduate studies at Michigan, majoring in political science and economics. Keith is originally from Northville, Michigan where he graduated from Northville High School. This is Keith's seventh year in the club and he feels very fortunate that he has been able to remain in the group long enough to see the excitement of the 150th anniversary.

Anthony Ambroselli Ben Rizzo, Business Manager

Ben Rizzo is a sophomore majoring in Chemical Engineering and is excited to be a part of the executive board during his second year in club. He is focused on development, Ann Arbor store merchandise sales, and community outreach programs all while continuing to enjoy the every day activities of Club. Outside of Club, Ben is involved in volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, St. Mary's Student Parish, Intramural sports, '31E Honor Society, and other engineering activities.

Greg Fear Joe Wieciek, Alumni Relations Manager

Joe Wieciek is currently a junior majoring in Computer Engineering. He is proud to have been selected to serve as Alumni Relations Manager and looks forward to an exciting 150th Anniversary and positioning the Glee Club on the path to a great future. Joe is from New Jersey, where he attended Spotswood High School. In his time not devoted to school and the UMMGC, Joe enjoys foreign and independent film and good barbecue.

Carl Smith Carl Smith, Faculty Advisor
Carl Smith is beginning his 13th year as our Faculty Advisor. He is a CPA and retired in May 2006 after 27+ years with the University. During his University tenure he served as Director of University Audits for 18 years and spent the remainder of his time as internal audit manager and senior auditor in the Office of University Audits. Carl was a second tenor with the Men's Glee Club from fall 1965 through the fall semester 1966 and was a member of the Club that debuted Dr. Phil Duey's Go Blue at the 1966 Spring Concert. Carl is in his 25th year singing with the UMS Choral Union and has sung with the Donald Bryant Singers, Ann Arbor Cantata Singers, and other organizations as time allowed.

Paul Rardin Paul Rardin, Director

Paul Rardin is associate director of choirs at the University of Michigan, where he teaches undergraduate conducting and conducts the Men's Glee Club and University Choir. He previously taught at Towson University in Towson, Maryland, where for twelve years he served as director of choirs. Rardin's choruses have earned regional and national acclaim, and have performed in such venues as Boston Symphony Hall, Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, Washington National Cathedral, Duke University Chapel, The Cathedral of St. Philip (Atlanta, GA), Riverside Church (New York, NY), and Immaculate Conception (San Diego, CA). The Towson University Chorale performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 2002 and 2004.

Rardin is a graduate of Williams College and the University of Michigan, where he received the M.M. in composition and the D.M.A. in conducting. He has studied conducting with Theodore Morrison, Jerry Blackstone, and Gustav Meier, and composition with Leslie Bassett, George Wilson, and Robert Suderburg. He has also participated in master classes with Helmuth Rilling, Charles Bruffy, and Dale Warland. Rardin has served as guest conductor for state and regional high school choral festivals in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Oregon. He has presented clinics for state, regional and national conferences of the American Choral Directors Association, as well as the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, Virginia Music Educators Association, and numerous county and city school systems in Maryland.

Rardin is also a published arranger, composer, and author. His settings of spirituals and folk songs are published by Santa Barbara Music Publishing. His articles, many on the topic of contemporary music, have appeared in the ACDA publications Choral Journal, Troubadour, and Bel Canto.
