Steven Kronauer

Dr. Steven Kronauer presently teaches voice at California State University, Long Beach and has been the head of the voice and opera department at the University of California, Santa Barbara until 2008. Dr. Kronauer sang Opera for ten years at the Munich Opera, and has sung concerts internationally. He has a doctorate from the University of California, Los Angeles, Master of Music in both vocal performance and conducting from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Kronauer has an established studio in Los Angeles for singers of all styles and has successful students singing internationally.

He also conducts and coaches vocally The Young Men’s Ensemble of the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, specifically committed to help young men to continue to sing healthily, learning details of classical music through-out the voice change. Dr. Kronauer has led discussions on the changing voice for the public interviewing singers David Daniels and Ben Heppner. These events were in conjunction with The Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, the Buckley School in Los Angeles and USC. The nature of the Young Men’s Ensemble including Dr Kronauer’s teaching and conducting was recently profiled in the Calendar section of the Los Angeles Times.
