Founded in 1817, the University of Michigan was an ambitious experiment, a novel and noble idea for higher education in America. Two hundred years later, we celebrate its bicentennial anniversary by taking a moment to examine its past, survey its present, and explore its future. In celebration of the University’s Bicentennial, the Men’s Glee Club is hosting Ambassadors of Song, an International Male Chorus Symposium taking place on November 10th & 11th, 2017. With world-renowned presenters and performances by premier choral groups, this fall weekend in Ann Arbor seeks to foster intellectual discourse and promote musical innovations of the future. In tune with the University’s theme, Ambassadors of Song will explore male choral singing’s past through the Men’s Glee Club’s Ambassadors of Song Alumni Chorus, its present by highlighting premier collegiate male choral groups, and its future through the High School Bicentennial Chorus. Join us.
